UNDERSTANDING DIVINE DIRECTION

“O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.”
What is Direction?
Direction is the course or path which something is now moving or pointing towards; it is also a statement that tells a person what to do and how to go about it. Direction can be an order or instruction; it could be instructions that tell you how to get to a place.
You may know where you want to go, but it is not in you to know how to get there. That is where divine direction comes in. And at other times you may not even know what should happen in your life next, and your life could be shrouded in confusion, that is when divine direction becomes an absolute need. It is called “divine direction” because it comes from God and not humans; it is a product of divinity and not humanity. Man can only do so much for you, but due to the finite nature of man, he will always encounter great limitations. I can only lead and direct a person to the extent of my personal experience and exposure. At my very best, I can only lead a person to the extent to which God has helped me. But it is far much better if you as a person has a personal relationship with God Himself and enjoy being led by Him.
Joseph knew He was going to be a great man, but he never knew where, when or how. Ruth knew deep down in her spirit that she had to follow Naomi, but she never knew how God would settle her life. David was anointed king of Israel, but never knew how he would ascend the throne. You probably have great ideas and indications in your spirit as to where God is taking you and what you are supposed to become, but you have no idea as to how it will happen. Let me make it clear to you that divine direction answers the question "how" and throughout this month God will be showing us through the devotional and other messages during our church services.
-Learn how to know the voice of God this month.
-Learn the difference between the voice of man, the voice of the flesh and the voice of the Holy Spirit.
-Understand how to get direction from God.
The last time you lost direction is the last time forever in Jesus name.
Assignment
i. Decide to follow all teachings in the devotional this month.
ii. Decide to be in every service this month, and take serious notes and notice of the things that the Lord may be telling you.
Prayer
-Lord please grant me direction this month in Jesus Name.
-Father eliminate all forms of confusion around my life and progress in Jesus Name.
