“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.”
There are so many people of wise sayings but unwise actions. I have seen and known quite a number of people with plenty of intelligence but are not wise at all. There is a big difference between wisdom and intelligence, you know? An intelligent person can do well in school, perform excellently at work and earn praises and commendations in these areas, but in their decisions and the conduct of their personal lives, they are always falling short.
This is because wisdom has to do with character and not just performance. The first place your wisdom plays out will be in your character and not in your work. Character is needed in your day to day relationships. If you can't relate peacefully with people, you can’t be said to be a wise man or woman. People would rather relate well with machines, paper and computers than to relate properly with humans. This is because the dynamics of humans challenge your character make up and composition.
Another way your wisdom plays out is in the actions that affect your future. A man who thinks of the future and acts to favour that future is a wise man. A smoker is a not a wise man, a womanizer is not a wise person, women of easy virtue who are easily found in men's beds are not wise. People without investment sense are not wise at all. Thoughts and actions that affect both your future and eternity speak a lot about your wisdom level and quality. Be wise in Jesus Name.
Assignment
i. Begin to check your character level in all your relationships, particularly those very close to you, like your spouse, and other family members.
ii. Begin to take actions and decisions that favour your future from today.
Prayer
-Lord make me a truly wise person in Jesus Name.
-Give me wisdom in relationships and make me a person of character in Jesus Name.
-Give me wisdom for the future in Jesus Name.
