TWENTY FIRST CENTURY DISTRACTIONS.
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. (Hebrews 12:2-4 KJV)
In the past three days we have looked at the various ways the enemy weakens our focus and our concentration towards the goals we have set for ourselves. Chiefest of them was the media and the Internet, which are twenty first century distractions. As powerful and beneficial as the internet is, its potentials for destruction is very massive.
The World Wide Web otherwise known as www has webbed many people's destinies so mercilessly. It has become a modern day prison of many young people and even older generation people as well. Someone actually supposedly revealed that the www is a Roman figure presentation for 666(IVIVIV), the mark of the beast. When the letter "i" is slanted along with the letter "v" it becomes a letter "w" If this is true, should we wait any longer for a physical mark on our right hands or fore heads? May God give us grace to overcome in Jesus Name.
ii. Food.
Food is another very powerful and terrible distraction of our day. There are more fast food joints than supermarkets nowadays, and this generation has become so highly distracted by so much food on display everywhere, such that fasting is so hard to accomplish in our generation. Too many fast food joints have killed fasting.
One secret of focus is fasting. Fasting is a prayer booster, fasting is a way to deepen the concentration of focus.
Fasting makes you fast in life, because it gives you unusual speed. A man who fasts a lot will not be at the same level with his peers in a short time to come. As we fast in these twenty one days, make up your mind to close your eyes to fast food joints along with all the canteens on your offices and around your neighbourhood.
There are many people that have never completed a full twenty one day fast declared by any church in all their life time. It is possible your breakthrough is waiting for the day you will go full length with Him in a thing such as a twenty one day Daniel fast.
Receive speed this year as you fast in Jesus Name.
Assignment.
i. Determine to fully partake of this year's twenty one days fast, even if it is for the first time.
ii. Resist the temptations of other years, by making sure you do not break the fast before the general prayer time.
iii. Ask God to take away all manifestations of the "Esau spirit" who sold his birthright because of food from you.
Prayer.
- Father I present my stomach as a sacrifice on your altar for the next twenty one days in Jesus Name.
- Release upon me the grace to wait on you with fasting and deep prayer like I have never done before in Jesus Name.
