That’s our strength. “If sometimes we are not good, we know we are going to run and make effort for our team-mates. That is the secret of our success.” Mahrez now becomes the first African and Leicester player to win the prize. He succeeds Chelsea’s Eden Hazard as the winner of the prestigious award.
The Algerian has scored 16 goals and made 11 assists, as Claudio Ranieri’s men continue to lead the Premier League table with just three games left. Dele Alli, who has enjoyed a sparkling campaign for Tottenham Hotspur, also took home the award for Young Player of the Year.
