Ephesians 5:25-29 NKJV
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.”
Marriage suffers where wisdom is lacking, particularly God's wisdom. And I want to lay down God's wisdom for marital success on a point by point basis as revealed in our text today.

Love your Wife: You are to love your wife the way Jesus loves the church. Jesus loves the church sacrificially and unconditionally.

Give yourself to your wife: By this I mean, your time, attention and affection. This happens to be the greatest need of your wife. Giving yourself also entails having regular discussions and conversations with her

Be her pastor at home: Teach her the word of God. The more you teach her, the better she becomes. Paul calls it the process of sanctification, which also means to set apart and make special. Make her special and don't allow any kind of abuse around her from anyone.

Present her to yourself: Make sure your wife is constantly presentable to you at all times. If your eyes like what you see, and your heart is happy with her, the rest of the world will feel the same way as well.

Treat her with care and honour: 1Peter 3:7 already spelt that out to us. She is to be honoured and treated like a fragile vessel and not manhandled. If your wife has spots, it is a sign of abuse or manhandling, if there are wrinkles on her, it means she has been stressed by you.

Love her like your own body: This means you must do for her all that you do to your body. Every man cherishes and nourishes his body. So cherish her, and then nourish her. Let all forms of suffering be very far from her.
BE WISE IN JESUS NAME.
Assignment
i. Read the points all over again, for at least three to five times.
ii. Device a strategy to successfully practice them.
iii. Surprise your wife with these new discoveries.
Prayer
-Pray each and every point and ask God for all the grace needed to make them possible.
