You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 2:1 (NKJV)
The word ‘Grace’ is derived from the Greek word “Charis” which means graciousness of manner or act. Grace is the influence of God poured out on a person. One of the benefits of God’s grace is strength. God’s grace supplies us the strength of God. God, speaking in answer to Paul’s prayer, said, “my grace is sufficient for thee … my strength is made perfect in weakness …” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Beloved, how much of God’s grace you access determines the level of strength you enjoy.
What is the grace of God?
The surpassing goodness of God. “And He said, “I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; And will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have mercy on whom I have mercy” (Exodus 33:19). The grace of God comes with the goodness of God.
The undeserved mercy of God. “And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth” (Exodus 34:6 NKJV). To encounter the grace of God is to enjoy the mercy of God.
The compassion of God. “But the LORD was gracious to them, had compassion on them, …” (2 Kings 13:23 NKJV). The grace of God brings the compassion of God.
The kindness of God. “… But you are God, ready to pardon, gracious and merciful slow to anger, abundant in kindness, and did not forsake them” (Nehemiah 9:17 NKJV).
The longsuffering forbearance of God. “But thou, O Lord, art a God full of Compassion, and gracious, long-suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth” (Psalm 86:15). The grace of God is what calms the anger of God.
The exceeding riches of God’s favour. “That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:7 NKJV). To have the grace of God is to have the exceeding riches of God’s favour.
Beloved, the grace of God is available for you through Jesus. Rise up, claim it and enjoy it. I see you manifesting strength through the grace of God in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus Father, Thank you for your word. By your grace, I enjoy strength in Jesus name.
