“Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her.”
There is a big difference between simplicity and simpleton. A simpleton is a foolish person, but a person of simple disposition is one with an uncomplicated, humble and respectful approach to people, life and issues. His carriage is seriously coloured with humility and due consideration for others. These kinds of people are usually very favoured by others. It is a major secret of favour that many people often miss.
When Esther was asked for her demands to enable her appear before the king, one would have expected her to behave like the rest. Many of her colleagues may have asked for many sophisticated and ultra modern makeup kits and cleansing agents. But when it came to Esther's turn, she took the approach of simplicity. She requested nothing more than what was originally provided and that action gave her favour before the managers of that contest.
It is not in the amount of makeup you put on, the height of your shoes, nor the many perfumes that you wear; it is the glory of God in your life that makes the difference. Learn to be humble, respectful, approachable, accommodating, tolerant and courteous. These are the attributes that define a person of simplicity. Many times, people with pomp, grandeur and excessive carriage don't get to find the kind of favour they should have because they would have scared away their favour channels already.
Be wise and be simple in Jesus Name.
