Worship is the outpouring of admiration and adoration unto God. In Psalm 84:1, the Bible says “How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of Host”. Worship is also an act of ministering your love and affection towards God. “Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name” (Psalms 91:14).
Let us consider some requirements for quality worship unto God.
Decision: “I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart: I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee. I will sing praise to thy name, O thy most high” (Psalms 9:1-2). “I will …” Praise and worship flows out of a personal decision
Conviction: “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generation” (Psalm 89:1). True worship flows from a heart that is convinced of God’s love and faithfulness.
Passion: “Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart” (Psalms 111:1). Worship flows lavishly where the heart is full of passion.
Participation: “O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together” (Psalm 34:3). Join other believers in corporate church fellowship and worship.
Expression: “This people have I formed for myself; they shall show forth my praise” (Isaiah 43:21). True worship involves physical expression and demonstrations.
Revelation: “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies” (Psalms 18:3). Your revelation of who God is enables you to worship Him deeply.
Affection: “Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth” (Psalms 26:8). Only those who love God deeply, can worship him truly.
Beloved, love God more and you will worship Him more. Receive grace to live a life of true worship in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus: Lord, thank you for speaking to me. From today, my life will become worship to you in Jesus name.
