Ecclesiastes 8:1 KJV
“Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.”
A wise person is not necessarily known by his wise sayings alone. A wise man is known by his results, achievements and lifestyle. That is why a man's wisdom will make his face to shine; it makes you bold and confident. So it is not what you put on alone that makes you shine, but the wisdom of your life.
A wise man is one that can interpret things. Wise people don't just hear things; they endeavor to interpret whatever it is they hear. They don't take things at face value, they seek to know the reason behind things, and they seek to know the meaning of things. These are the practices that make a wise man. Wise men deal with motives and not just actions; they deal with reasons behind actions. When they listen to the word of God, they always get to know why they are hearing the word they are hearing at that particular time. Wise people are very discerning.
You too can fit into this description. Seek to understand and don't just stop at knowing a thing. Reading between the lines makes you a wise man. Hearing beyond the words spoken will make you wise. Seeing beyond the obvious is a practice of wisdom. Proper interpretation of things will make you wise and enviable.
