Topic: Called To Serve [Wednesday April 13, 2016] –
“… I have heard the cry of my people…so am sending you so that you can lead my people out of this country”
Exodus 3:7-10The children of Israel cried out when they were being afflicted just the way the world, the people around you cry out for rescue or help. Moses was nobody when God called him to embark on the rescue mission. In fact, seeing that he had nothing but a rod, he ignorantly said: “… I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue” (Exo. 4:10) in other words, he was saying “I am a stammerer”. Many times when God calls us for specific assignments, we always find an excuse not to go, we begin to highlight our imperfections and give reasons why another should go for that assignment. You must understand that every call by God to serve has a role in your destiny fulfillment.
There is something strange about the way God responded to Moses’ excuse. Could God not have healed him of stammering? Of course, He could but instead, He said to Moses: “Is not Aaron the Levite, thy brother? … And thou shall speak to him and put words in his mouth … And he shall be thy spokesman to the people” (
Exodus 4:14-16).
Now what do you think God was doing? God was giving Moses a helper. While Moses was called to serve God’s purpose by being a voice for God, Aaron on the other hand was created to be a voice for Moses and by so doing come to prominence in his life. That is why God did not heal Moses and make him eloquent else there would have been no need or place for Aaron. There can never be two Moses sent to the Israelite, so also there is one Moses or visionary in our Local churches with helpers given to help the vision. The truth is that Aaron could only get to the climax of his destiny by being a helper to Moses. Are you a helper to the vision of the house?
You cannot fulfill your purpose in life if you do not help another in fulfilling his purpose. Our destinies are interrelated. As you help others fulfill their God given Purpose, God will bring helpers your way that will help you to also fulfill your purpose.
